Online medical care – isn’t that an oxymoron? What can you treat?

Actually for most people, and most problems, an online visit with us will work and save you a whole lotta, time, money and frustration.

We see a lot of coughs, sinus problems, colds, flus, ear aches, asthma, COPD, allergies, acne, rashes, UTIs, nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, joint pain, muscle pain, back pain, sprains and spasms, cold sores, vertigo, motion sickness, STIs, and also prescribe birth control.

But of course we can’t treat everything. Some things we don’t prescribe online are sex hormone therapy, ED meds like Viagra, HSDD meds like Addyi, plan B, PreP or HAART. We also can’t prescribe any controlled substances like opioid painkillers (e.g. Percocet), benzodiazepines (e.g. Xanax) for anxiety or codeine containing cough syrup.

Unfortunately sometimes you really have to go to the ER, and if that’s the case we’ll let you know. But if you’re in danger don’t wait, just go. Better safe than sorry.
There are also some things that your on-the-ground primary and urgent care doc can treat that we can’t like pneumonia for example, because it requires a physical exam.

If it’s not an emergency, then there’s no harm in asking us first. Even if we can’t treat it, it won’t cost ya.
